Décomposer le portrait pour construire l’émotion
C'est à travers mes connaissances d’architecte que je pense à concevoir une nouvelle oeuvre, comme un projet d’architecture… Dans ce travail de recherches, et d’éxperimentations, on retrouve le thème de l’aménagement de l’espace, du mouvement et des différents matériaux.
Un jeu de contraste s’installe entre les espaces les plus brillants des plus matifiers de ma "parcelle", laissant ainsi apparaitre les différentes techniques utilisées à l’acrylique au pinceau, au couteau et de feuilles d’or. L’accumulation de ces petites touches de peinture verticale vont finalement créer une rythmique dynamique, laissant apparaitre la poésie d'un visage en cours de décomposition. « La multiplication de petits éléments créent, ensemble, une architecture »
Il est pourtant le plus léger des métaux. Mais à lui seul, il réfléchît la lumière qu’il reçoit et absorbe l’atmosphère de l'espace qu'il habite. Une manière contemporaine de revisiter l’art cinétique. Les caractéristiques de l’aluminium en font un matériaux surprenant, et résistant, qui perdure dans le temps, et contribue lui aussi, à construire une émotion...
À travers son propre reflet, l'artiste inverse les rôles et invite le visiteur à être observé...
In the theme of Portrait & matter.
Each touch of paint, each line has its role. One modifies the look, the other, the facial expression. Inspired by Neo-Impressionism, Pointillism, and Pixel Art, these artworks are animated by the verticality of the lines and repeated touches of paint. Thanks to the properties of the materials, the reflection of light on the aluminium sheet is of great importance. The artwork lives in the sandstone of the atmospheres which it absorbs and comes to life over the movements.
The latest series "Just a touch of Love" is the result of a lot of research and experimentations. It revolves around the theme of portrait and matter. The aluminum support plays an important role and gives dynamism to his artwork. A play of contrast between glossy and matte colors makes it possible to identify the different techniques used: with a brush and a knife.
The mixture of acrylic, oil paint, and gold leafs are all materials, which allow the very expression of its protagonists... The artist reverses the roles, he also invites the spectators to be observed, where the eyes meet and intertwine. Letting the mind of the spectator navigate...

Né en janvier 1991, David DJIAN a grandi dans le sud de la France. C’est dans ce lieu empreint de lumière que David se passionne pour l’art. Il développe son goût pour le dessin et la peinture, notamment à l’atelier Bô où il apprend les différentes techniques appliquées à l'art : fusain, crayon, encre de Chine, et acrylique.
En 2010, il quitte sa côte d’azur natale pour s’installer à Paris et commence à étudier à Penninghen, école d’architecture intérieur, design & art graphique.
Il fait partie des meilleurs diplômes de l’Ecole Spéciale d’architecture en 2017 en réalisant un projet manifeste construit sans eaux, dans le désert du Negev : « One night experience », construit dans le désert du Negev, à la frontière de la Jordanie.
En 2019, c'est à Nice que David décide de poser ses valises pour se consacrer pleinement à sa première passion : la peinture. Il découvre, par sérendipité, une identité singulière l'inspirant à produire la série :
" Just a touch of love " qu'il poursuit en 2020 dans la dernière série
" A larms of you ", inspiré par ses études d'architectures, à travers l'étude du mouvement, de la matière, du rythme, du contrastes à l'équilibre de composition...
Il obtient la HMONP ( habilitation à la maitrise d'oeuvre en nom propre), en novembre 2021. En parallèle de la peinture, l'artiste - architecte, spécialisé dans l'éco-conception et visionnaire, continue de concevoir des projets manifestes, permettant de présenter une vision nouvelle de l'architecture de demain en réinventant la vision d'un portrait revisité.
Born in January 1991, David DJIAN grew up in the south of France. It’s in this light-filled place that David becomes passionate about art. He developed his taste for drawing and painting, in particular at the Bô workshop where he learned the different techniques applied to art: charcoal, pencil, Indian ink, and acrylic.
In 2010, he left his native region, the French Riviera, to settle in Paris and began studying at Penninghen, a school of interior architecture, design & graphic art.
A year later, convinced that the future of the architectural profession must integrate current ecological issues, David evolves towards an eco-responsible architecture. He designs houses with natural and renewable materials while preserving biodiversity and local resources. He won his first student competition at the Ecole Spéciale of Architecture in Paris in 2015 and carried out with their workshop his first project composed exclusively of bamboo in Mancora, in the north of Peru.
He is one of the best graduates of the Ecole Spéciale of Architecture in 2017 and realizes a manifesto project built from recovered wooden pallets, decomposed and then re-composed by offering a unique experience in the desert of Negev: "One night experience", an eco-village called "Desert-days" built in the southern desert ofNeguev at the border of Jordan.
In 2019, it is in Nice that David decides to settle down in order to devote himself fully to his first passion: painting. He discovers, by serendipity, a singular identity inspiring him to produce the series: "Just a touch of love".
In 2021 , he's a complete architect and focus on ecological concept. and on his work as an artist, still looking for a new way to create an deeper portrait..
